Holiday club

At Effectus Theatre, we understand how important it is to provide access to quality training and entertainment experiences in rural areas. That's why we offer holiday theatre classes at Cawood Old Boys School, Selby.
Our sessions are the perfect way to build confidence and explore creativity, as they are led by industry professionals who have DBS, first aid certificates and have undergone additional training in inclusive practice and the social model of disability.
Our classes provide a great opportunity to have fun and learn at the same time, while also exploring new ideas and activities. With our classes, we make sure everyone feels included and valued while they take part.
We look forward to seeing the positive impact our classes have on young people across Cawood Old Boys School, Selby!

Elder Flowers
At Effectus Theatre, we understand the difficulties of caring for and engaging with elderly people, particularly those living with dementia. We have seen first-hand how hard it can be to provide meaningful experiences and activities to elderly members of the community. That's why we created Elder Flowers - an innovative service designed to bring joy and companionship to people in rural areas who might otherwise be at risk of social isolation.
Our Elder Flowers sessions provide activities such as singing songs, playing parlour games, crafting, chatting and enjoying tea/coffee and cake - as well as a sensory pod offering relaxation time. All our activities are dementia-friendly and we welcome families and carers to join us.
We believe no one should be left feeling isolated or lonely, and our Elder Flowers sessions aim to make a difference to those in need of companionship. If this sounds of interest to you, we would love to hear from you. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us if there’s any way we can help.
